Many clients are interested in what kind of equipment photographers use, including the camera, lens, lighting, printers, and software. Each kind of photography requires certain kind of equipment and this information is provided for clients personal knowledge as well as to some insight into what we provide our clients.
What factors guide equipment selection? In all cases the type of equipment is determined by the kind of photographs you would like (Type), how you plan on utilizing the photographs (Usage), and the conditions for shooting the photographs (Conditions). With that in mind, listed below are some examples of situations that have vastly different needs:
A retail store would like staged photography that will appear in both print, web, and on large backdrops at t rade shows.
A wedding couple has a day-to-evening event and would like creative, artistic photography that will be used in standard prints (for guests), in a web photo-video, and also used for large fine art canvas prints.
An exclusive special event held on location would like journalistic, colorful, and also staged photography for the guests but also venue photography for use in publications and by supporting vendors of the event.
